Debbie Garratt

Dr Debbie Garratt has more than 30 years of diverse professional experience across health, adult education and counselling sectors. She is currently practicing as a clinical supervisor for mental health staff, counsellors, health professionals and psychologists.
Garratt, a spokesperson for the Mothers of Sons organisation, has a son who was wrongfully imprisoned but eventually found not guilty of sexual contact with a child. She will describe the horror for their family of having a son go through this ordeal, including being publicly named and shamed, and the lasting impact on them all.
She will also share advice from MoS mothers to parents about how to protect their sons, dealing with false allegations, handling police and lawyers.
